"Peeper Pond", Bella Vista, Benton County, Arkansas
I happened to be around my little "Peeper Pond" at the right time and was able to observe several Spotted Salamanders emerge from their hiding places and start to make their way toward the pond.
I think this picture (though technically terrible) must show what is like to be a Spotted Salamander the vast majority of time...living in a muddy, dark burrow; waiting for an earthworm or two to pass by.
