2008 AHS Spring Field Trip, Mount Magazine State Park and Surrounding Areas, Logan and Yell Counties, Arkansas, USA
This young Yellowbelly Water Snake was found in a small backed-up pool of a creek. It was likely feeding well on all of the Ambystomid larvae found there. (We moved it up into the shallows for pictures.)
